Does the AS-02 actually have any performance advantage over the AS-01?

I own the AS-01 and I can say I hate that thing I should probably get rid of it but part of me says that I should just build it.

One day I'll probably throw it at someone and call it a day.

bolt action scout rifle. Enlighten an absolute noob here. What would be the advantage of such an airsoft gun ?

beside the fact that it look very good !

Basically just overall length. The SRS is a similarly sized bolt action but it's a bulpup configuration.

You're allowed higher muzzle energy which, if you've set the rifle up properly and selected the right BBs, equates to more range and great accuracy.

under 250ft, it becomes exponentially more of a disadvantage due to being a bolt action vs semi-auto

I love my AS01. I got it second hand but I absolutely enjoy it and my local vendor showed me the AS02 and after being thoroughly impressed with my Striker, I feel I gotta add the AS02 to my collection and I'll be getting myself one and a few upgrades for it with my Christmas bonus from work. Love the badass-ness of the 02.

might be a good niche rifle, for those who play on cqb fields if tuned and dialed in right, with the right bbs should be able to put shots into all the small nooks and cranies, I'm interested

Ares

I run the AS-01 with Nemo and EDGI upgrades, totaling 4 of these AS-01. I bought an AS-02 and from the looks of it, the piston is 90 degree and the sear is almost that of the triceratops sear EDGI makes. They have corrected a lot of the issues with this model. Action Army GEN 1 Aftermarket hopups do not work without ether modifying the unit or the inside of the outer barrel. There is a GEN 2 AA hopup unit that will work but as fare is I have tested all GEN 1 AA unites do not fit right.

It certainly is a niche rifle. I have one, its size definitely is a plus for me being a smaller guy, in addition to using more of an agile speed based play style. The stock 90 degree sears is a definite plus, means less of a chance for slam firing.
