I just spent 2+ hours out of 30 hours in a creek/swamp for airsoft. Some people play a little different than others.
EDIT: My Merrells (bless 'em) finally failed after two years and my feet were soaked. Wool socks paid off and I didn't get any serious foot issues, but they were raw and sore by the end of it all. We walked 14km (yay GPS) over the 30 hours, and my feet were wet in the first hour. I would have given my first born for a pair of good waterproof boots.
