10:1 is a bit generous, but I agree that the ratio of BBs to bullets is definitely not 1:1.

The stoner has many advantages over a m249... it's lighter, it's smaller, and it has semi auto. I think those tradeoffs are rather fair for less ammo capacity.

I own the G&P Mk23/Stoner 63 version, with a 1200 round box mag. The original 1960's version of your major update 1990's Stoner design. The real steel Stoner 63 came with a box mag holding 100 rounds, or less common drum holding 150 rounds. It may well have been capable of belted ammo for larger load-outs, but it wasn't used in that configuration very much.

As Off-Kilter has already said.. you want an LMG.. get a GPMG like an M240 or M249 or similar. The Stoner's are/were a lighter weight variant support gun used for suppressive fire to break off engagements/offensive fire support, and is/was considerably lighter than it's newer brethren. The Stoner 63 saw limited use in the Vietnam era through to the mid-1980's in the US Navy.. the newer Knights Armament Stoner which you have, is essentially a Contractor's weapon for those who want more firepower than an M4, but don't want to lug the weight of a M240/M249.

A scaling of 10 BB's to 1 rounds IRL, IMHO is reasonable.. particularly so for Milsims with this weapon type.

Mine's going on an ATV.. and it's the perfect size and weight for that. I'll gladly go along with any ammo restrictions related to it. I've taken it to two 6-hour skirmishes so far, without a box-mag refill .. there is still lots of rounds left in there now, for a third skirmish.
