The stoner has many advantages over a m249... it's lighter, it's smaller, and it has semi auto. I think those tradeoffs are rather fair for less ammo capacity.
The stoner 96 has no semi. It is rock-n-roll only. I swear the weight when put on a scale was 6+kg.
